Lauren Oliver Buckland, Sr.

Mr. Buckland was born and raised in Montana. He obtained a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Montana State College. He entered the Army at Fort Benning, Georgia and went on to earn the coveted Ranger tab and Airborne wings. After resigning from the Army, Lauren moved to Atlanta and became a C.P.A. with the firm of Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte Touche). He then attended Emory University Law School, where he was on the editorial staff of the Journal of Public Law. From 1971 until 1976, Lauren served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia under the leadership of Attorney General Arthur Bolton. During this period, Lauren represented the Department of Revenue in its income tax cases and various state authorities in their issuance of revenue bonds. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Buckland serves as a Hearing Officer for the Georgia State Board of Education. He has also served as a hearing officer for the Department of Revenue, the Department of Technical and Adult Education, and the Professional Standards Commission.
